Welcome on the HTPCM2012 congress web site !

The goal of this international symposium is to reflect the interests of the major industries dependent on the successful application of high-temperature materials, providing a periodic updating on the current research and understanding in these areas.  While emphasis is placed on studies providing current insight into these issues, attention also is given to recent advances in the underlying science and technology.  The main industrial fields addressed in this symposium are:

  • Aero- and Land-based gas turbines
  • Reciprocating (diesel) engines
  • Air- and oxy-fired boilers, incinerators, burners
  • H2 and syngas production, coal gasification
  • Fuel cells
  • Heat exchangers, gas separation & cleanup
  • Process industries (chemical, steel, glass, pulp & paper)
  • Nuclear industry

The major themes of the symposium are intended to capture issues where the results can be translated for implementation by industry and where industrial feedback can provide guidance to assist further research, for example:

  • Corrosion mechanism in aggressive environments
  • Carburization and metal dusting
  • Mixed oxidants
  • Steam and water vapor
  • Supercritical fluids
  • Hot corrosion
  • Coupling with mechanical loading
  • High temperature materials development
  • Coatings (including thermal barriers)
  • Alloys and intermetallics
  • Ceramics and composites
  • Modeling and lifetime prediction
  • Advances in characterization techniques

All contributions, both oral and posters, will be included in the symposium proceedings and the best manuscripts will be selected for a special issue of the journal Oxidation of Metals http://www.springer.com/materials/special+types/journal/11085
