Clean biocatalytic processes in ionic liquids and supercritical fluids

Professor Pedro Lozano received his BSc/MSc in Sciences (Chemistry) from the University of Murcia in June 1984, and his PhD in Sciences (Chemistry) from the University of Murcia in July 1988. Between, 1990 and 1991, he spent two years of post-doctoral formation at the Centre de Bioingénierie Gilbert Durand, Toulouse (France). In 1993, he returned to the Faculty of Chemistry at the University ofMurcia(Spain) as Lecturer in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, being finally promoted to Full Professor in 2004. Between 1996-2014, he was Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and coordinator of the Biochemistry Degree at the University of Murcia, and since 2014 he is the Dean of the sameFaculty.Prof. Lozano has also been Visiting Professor at the Universities of Rennes-France (2002) and Bordeaux-France (2013). His research activity hasalways been related with enzyme technology under non-conventional media, being focused on the use of biocatalysts ionic liquids and supercritical fluids for developing green chemical processes. He is the author of more than 140 publications (i.e. research papers, reviews, book chapters, etc), and more than 200 scientific Congress contributions. Prof Lozano was obtained the 7th IQS-European Award on Enzyme Technology (2003), and the Fellow position at the Royal Society of Chemistry (2017). Now, Prof. Lozano is regional editor of the journal Current Green Chemistry, as well as member of the advisory board of Molecules and Mini-Reviews in Organic Chemistry journals.

Green Process Intensification using Novel Device

Prof. Krishna Nigam is on the faculty of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi from year 1976 and served in various capacities. Professor Nigam has published more than 156 research papers in peer reviewed International Journals which have received more than 4100 citations with h index of 35. His research work has been widely acclaimed and referred in prestigious journals such as Proceedings of Royal Society London, Journal of Fluid Mechanics, and Perry’s Hand Book etc. In particular, he has made long lasting contributions to the analysis and design of Multiphase Reactors. The First Hydrocracker in India has been designed and commissioned in December 2011 based on joint efforts of his group at I.I.T. Delhi, the user industry Indian Oil Corporation and the process engineering company Engineers India Limited. Prof. Nigam served as Independent Director at National Fertilizers limited (2003-2006) and on the Board of Engineers India limited (2010-2013). Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee, MoPNG, GOI (2001-2003), Council member for All India Council for Technical Education (1998-2001), Council constituted by MHRD. He was a member of RAC of EIL & IOC (R&D). Member Accreditation Board of European Process Intensification Centre (EU) (March 2011), Member Working Party on Education of the European Federation of Chemical Engineers (EU), Member Innovation Council for the Fertilizer Sector, Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers, GOI (2010-2020). He is also Adjunct Professor at ISM Dhanbad (2014-2017). Recently he has been invited to join as Distinguished Visiting Professor at ITESM, Mexico (2017-2020).
