ABOUT FDFC 2015

The  Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse (University of Toulouse) is organising the 6th International Conference on ”Fundamentals & Development of Fuel Cells”, in Toulouse, France, from February 3rd to February 5th, 2015. Four laboratories are in fact involved in this organisation: LAPLACE (Laboratory on Plasma and Conversion of Energy), LGC (Chemical Engineering Laboratory), CIRIMAT (Inter-university Material Research and Engineering Centre) and IMFT (Institute of Fluid Mechanics of Toulouse).

The main topics at FDFC2015 will address fuel cells and electrolysers, ranging from fundamentals of electrochemistry to systems operation. Recent advances in materials, single cells, stacks and system development, as well as fuel cell diagnosis, power processing and control, characterisation of MEA, will be also presented during the conference.

At a larger scale, the conference will also address the advancement of hydrogen production and storage for different applications, as well as the role and the potential impact of fuel cells and hydrogen on grid operation and cities. Besides presenting scientific and technical advances, the conference is designed to instigate insightful discussions and networking between scientists, laboratories, research institutes, decision makers, fuel cells suppliers, component manufacturers and industrial end-users. Exhibitions will be held during the conference, giving an excellent opportunity for fuel cell material and hardware suppliers as well as manufacturers to advertise their products and to present them to future users.

At the same location and time period (February 4th-5th), the More Electric Aircraft conference will hold its 3rd edition, MEA 2015 (http://mea2015.eu/). A special joint session on both conferences FDFC2015 and MEA 2015 will be dedicated to “Aircraft applications of fuel cells” on the February 5th. People from both conferences will have access to the exhibitions (not to the lectures) of both conferences.

Conference Venue and Highlights

The three-day FDFC2015 conference will be held right at the heart of the city of Toulouse at the Congress Center Pierre Baudis.
